We travelled from Vancouver to Seattle via the coastal train which was an enjoyable way to cross the border taking in the calm sea and subdued landscapes along the way. A quick ten minute stop for the immigration officers to board the train and check our documents at the border and we were on our way again, we highly recommend taking the train.

The home of Frasier Crane, the original Starbucks (1971), the Freemont Troll and the Space Needle, Seattle is a bustling city with a relaxed vibe. We stayed just off Post Alley next to Pike St Market and it's many neon signs. It reminded us of Borough Market back home. The original Starbucks is also opposite the market and the many fresh fish stalls with sizeable crab claws, prawns and an array of fish. We had a lovely meal in a seafood restaurant called Etta's finished off by a shared dessert of 'coconut cream pie with white chocolate shavings which was divine.

The next morning we picked up our car and explored the city a little more before making our way down to St Helen's in Oregan for our next stop.
