Carrie has family who live in the beautiful town of Lorne (about forty minutes from Melbourne) up on the hill over looking the sea and we spent the night at their place. They were a lovely couple and we even had a dinner of roast lamb, a real taste of home and something we’d not had for at least seven months. My grandma (Pat) had visited Australia twice to see her bother Jim who emigrated 60+ years ago (as a ten pound pom) on a five week boat journey to Melbourne. Jim bought a farm opposite the now infamously dwindling Twelve Apostles and it was wonderful to hear about the Aussie side of our family and their lives down under.
