We arrived at Miles & Samiat's house on Friday afternoon, it's almost a year since I was last here and Carrie's first visit to their new pad. The house is looking great and the refurb has come along. On Saturday we went to a lively bar to see our friends we made in Bali (they live in the Bay area) one of them works at this hip Tiki bar.

On Super Bowl Sunday we all enjoyed brunch with 'Franica' in an upmarket eatery before we went to San Jose to visit David who is the grandson of my Scottish grandparents' best friends - a connection that spans generations and continents, as he and Miles are now friends. A defensive game with the Patriots winning again, surprising how many of those playing are from the Bay.

 

Monday entailed a trip to Pacifica in the day where we braved the stormy weather to walk round the lighthouse and an evening of free comedy at the http://www.starlinesocialclub.com with Miles & Ola. Tuesday was a day at Stinson beach and San Francisco with great weather. Wednesday we went to http://www.bikramyogapleasanton.com/to visit Carrie's friend from Yoga teacher training to attend his class and eat Thai vegan food. In the evening we watched "They Shall Not Grow Old" at the Grand Lake Theatre. Thursday we said our good byes and drove through Carmel and Big Sur, a breathtaking stretch of road, however, a lot busier than the equally stunning Oregon coast.
