The Drive from Eureka to Oakland (California)
The Avenue of the Giants.
The Redwoods of northern California and their huge scale give the feeling of a prehistoric landscape where at any moment a dinosaur could appear. For us to reach the largest of these trees, on the national coast, the path takes you over a river on a fallen giant. The canopies of these forests contain a variety of wildlife only recently being discovered.
