Cusco
Home to Paddy’s the highest 100% Irish pub on the planet., we spent three nights here after finishing the Inca Trail. Celebrations for the Three Crosses Festival were still in full swing in the city centre we saw parades and people dancing in the streets. While in Cusco we enjoyed lots of home comforts to celebrate completing the trek and my birthday. We began with a Chinese dinner at Kuno, followed by a curry lunch the next day @TasteOfIndia and a GoT marathon to get up-to-date!
Following a day of Game Of Thrones we set our alarm for 2:30am and by 3:15 were in a mini bus on the way to the coloured mountain translated from Quecha language (Vinicuna). Rainbow Mountain as it is now commonly known was only recently discovered due to global warming. The mountain still has occasional snow on its' peak today but five years ago it was year round! Our legs still a bit sore from the Inca Trail we took a steady pace to the 5,200m summit of Rainbow Mountain. Again the altitude and cold made it a challenge but the mineral rich mountain was a beautiful sight. We hiked on a little further to see the stunning Red Valley too.

Then we finished up our last evening in Cusco with a yummy Sheppard’s pie in the Irish pub with a couple of drinks before getting the night bus to Puno.
